who what when where why?
poor little rich girl was opened by meredith byam in april of 2002.
meredith graduated from newton's lasell college with a degree in fashion design. while in school, she realized after taking a fashion history class that her real passion was in spotting, recognizing, and forecasting trends...which eventually led her into the consignment business. after "learning the ropes" at local consignment chain, second time around, for a few years, she decided it was time to branch out on her own.
she decided to open in davis square thinking it was the perfect neighborhood for her quirky, eclectic, fun-loving style.
poor little rich girl was originally on highland avenue, now the home of magpie, in 700 sq feet!
faced with the problem of too little space and too much clothing, meredith decided to take the big leap into the 4000 sq. ft. store in september of 2006.
two months and many late nights later (check out the construction pics down below!), the new incarnation of plrg opened in november of 2006.
when not at work, she is out buying stock for the store...or spending time with her husband, her dog, sis, and nephew.
